The late nineties saw the growing popularity of Hyderabad as the destination of choice for expanding operations by leading organizations of the world.
A group of visionary leaders saw a need to start a local community of practioners that facilitated exchange of knowledge and experience with focus on developing project management competencies.
After many rounds of the famous Irani chai and biscuits, the Pearl City Chapter was incorporated on 14 August 2001, as a not for profit organization and as an extension of PMI, with a humble group of 25 members.
The members started to increase steadily and so did the pool of volunteers willing to contribute to the profession and community. The chapter leaders strengthened the portfolio of initiatives and activities to benefit individuals, industry, academia and government.

This year PMI completed 50 years of service and realigned their focus areas. To continue remain relevant, the chapter initiatives and offerings are also changing. With a laser focus on its members, the chapter will continue to contribute to enriching careers of individuals and play a significant role in the project economy.
